FYI, I have been out of state on a long road trip for the past month (I DO have an excuse :-)
I wrote this the other day to give you a small idea of what our road trip looked like...
Our road trip in alphabetical order
A is for our aunts we saw namely, Lorainne, Ruth, Mary, Geri, and Sharon
B is for Boise Idaho, the first place we stopped
C is for Cody, Wyoming, the “Rodeo capital of the world” (and yes we did go to a rodeo while we were there)
D is for driving the whole way (more than 5,000 miles!)
E is for eating, usually at a picnic table, at a rest stop
F is for the (MANY) fields we passed, full of cows and corn
G is for gratefulness, thank you to all those who helped in any way
H is for heights, at Milner Pass we were at an elevation of 10,759 feet
I is for Inns, in which we stayed over night
J is for joy, which was seen often
K is for Kansas, we spent 4 days there with my aunt and her family
L is for loneliness, which did not exist on our trip :-D
M is for Minnesota, the main point of our trip, my mom grew up there and so we stayed with her sister for a week
N is for names, they are so hard to remember, especially when you haven’t seen that person in 10 years!
O is for “Oh, look!!!”, which preceded almost everything we said while driving down the road
P is for pools, most of the hotels had them so we went swimming a few times
Q is for questions, for many were asked on the trip
R is for Mt. Rushmore, we stayed overnight in a place that you could see 2 of the heads from the window
S is for sightseeing, like the Badlands, Rocky Mountain Nat’l Park, Mt. Rushmore, etc.
T is for tales to tell; funny, exciting, and sad
U is for Utah, one of the many places we stayed
V is for van; believe it or not, we only brought one 7 passenger van for 6 people and their stuff on a 24 day driving trip!
W is for Wall drug, they have signs from 365 miles away!!!
X is for x (believe it or not), one of the easiest letters to find when playing the letter race game in the van, just look for an exit sign!
Y is for Yellowstone National Park, we saw 3 bears, more than 150 buffalo, more than 50 elk, and a mountain goat!
Z is for Zack’s birthday, which happened while we were in Cody

Yes, I’m a Home-schooler, can you relate?
Sorry it took me SO long to post!
I haven't had much to post except my Easter dress, but I couldn't get anyone to take a picture for the short time I was wearing it. But next time I put it on I'll have SOMEONE take a picture.
But now to the point of this post, this is something I wrote yesterday,
Yes, I'm a Home-schooler, can you relate?
NOTE: This does NOT apply to all Home-schoolers
If people ask me who/what my favorite star is, I'm tempted to say Betelgeuse (pronounced beetle juice), and if they ask who that is I'd say, "It's only 1,000x bigger than our sun!!!"
My family and I randomly burst into song
I learned how to PROPERLY hold a pencil when I was 6
My favorite movies are old ones or musicals
My sister and I often quote lines off of old movies
I know that our hair and nails are made of the same substance
When I grow up I want to be a member of the NRA
If you ask a public-schooler what they like to do, most will say, (usually very dully) "Play video games." But don't ask me, it might take me an hour to explain my interests
While most teens could tell you what's new with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, I could tell you what's new in politics and all about the swine flu
While most teens haven't even changed a diaper, I probably know more about babies than our pregnant neighbor
While others shop at Nordstrom's, I think any shirt over $5 is expensive
While others fall asleep in a warm bath, I wait in line for a cold shower
While other teens may shy away from a conversation with an adult, I can look an adult in the eyes and talk with them for hours
While other young people are thinking about going to college to get a degree and then try to get a job, I'm planning to grow up and get a full time job NO amount of training can prepare you for; being a wife and a mother.

Guns (and yes, you read that right)
Guns
Some guns are weapons, some are toys
Some bring fear, some bring joys
Some people only regard guns with fears
Because in their life guns have only brought tears
But what some people don’t realize is that
Guns aren’t always bad no matter what shape or size
Guns come in many different types
Taser, air soft, rifle, and snipes
Some shoot paint or plastic or don’t shoot at all
But some, like a cannon, shoot things the size of a bowling ball
In the right hands guns help small and great
And protect from horrible fate
Guns provide a way to self protect the things you hold dear
And if someone tried to hurt you you’d be safer with your own gun near
But the point of this poem is I want you to know
Guns keep you safer where ever you go
And now that I’ve said what I want to say
Mom, may I become a member of the NRA?
